Adoption Partnership Coordinator

The Adoption Partnership Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and planning NBC10 youth features, KYW Newsradio features, and matching events to create permanent environments for children in care. The Adoption Partnership Coordinator should have a background that encompasses experience in child welfare, social work, or working with youth in foster care/adoption. The Adoption Partnership Coordinator is also responsible for providing information and service to families interested in adoption, such as how to get started in the process, and will also provide resources for families interested in adopting a youth.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Adoptions Partnership Coordinator:
• Work hand-in-hand with NBC10 and KYW Newsradio to profile one child in foster care weekly or biweekly, respectively, in the hopes of finding a prospective family
• Add all the new children to a Salesforce database
• Schedule tapings with venues and attend tapings as point person and conduct interviews for features
• Send follow-up information to child’s adoption team and venue
• Write weekly newspaper features for The Philadelphia Tribune, The Philadelphia Inquirer and monthly features for BEAR online magazine
• Plan and coordinate family and youth engagement events in New Jersey and Delaware
• Design creative elements for the engagement events (invitations, save-the-dates, meet the youth/family booklets, etc.) and coordinate catering for events
• Maintain a partnership with New Jersey DCPP to plan and execute family engagement event which includes, coordination meeting with DCPP to coordinate/host the event, process family registrations for approval by NJDCPP, create an after event summary of family interest of the youth, and complete other essential task pertaining to the event as needed
• Provide adoption assistance to Delaware by monitoring and responding to the inquiries daily on DE children through AdoptUSKids.org account
• Under the supervision of the Program Director complete the deliverables as set forth by DHS, provide quarterly updates, and attend meetings as scheduled by DHS.
• Provide customer service to families interested in learning about adoption, the process, or youth that have been featured on Wednesday’s Child, KYW Radio, or the agency Meet the Children Website
• Attends relevant workshops, webinars, and meetings with partners to stay informed about the field and network with other organizations/leaders.
• Act as the LGBTQ+ Staff Advocate on behalf of the organization and lead efforts to ensure non-discrimination compliance within the organization
• Coordinate and implement staff training for LGBTQ+ awareness, best practices, and competency
• Vet questions and concerns from staff, families, and partners regarding LGBTQ+ inclusion

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Counseling or a related field
• At least three years’ experience working with children ages 5-21 as a case manager, social worker, or counselor
• Experience with scheduling a plus
• Proficiency with Microsoft Suite and database entry
• Ability to conduct child interviews virtually
• Trauma-informed training and experience
• Ability to coordinate and plan engagement events
• Demonstrate collaborative skills and ability to work as a team player
• Ability to work remotely
• Outstanding communication skills both written and oral skills with close attention to detail
• Diversity/cultural training (marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, disability, physical appearance, race, age, religion, and/or size of family)
• Able to work with minimal supervision
• A valid driver license and willingness to use own vehicle for light travel
