Adoption Exchange Association - www.adoptea.org

The Adoption Exchange Association connects representatives of state, regional, & national adoption exchanges, placement agencies, parents, child welfare professionals, and concerned citizens across the United States, and provides a forum which promotes the exchange of ideas and strategies, collaboration, and increased effectiveness in utilizing resources to provide waiting children permanent homes.

Adoption Resource Exchange for Single Parents, Inc. (ARESP) - www.aresp.net

Adoption Resource Exchange for Single Parents is a private, non-profit organization founded in 1994 to help single people adopt older and special needs children. ARESP provides assistance and information about the process of adoption to single adoptive and prospective adoptive parents, regardless of age, sex, race or ethnicity, creed or religious beliefs, and sexual orientation.

The American Academy of Adoption Attorneys is a national association of attorneys who practice, or have otherwise distinguished themselves, in the field of adoption law.

The American Adoption Congress is composed of individuals, families and organizations committed to adoption reform. The organization represents all those whose lives are touched by adoption. Through education and advocacy they promote honesty, openness and respect for family connections in public policy.

Children Awaiting Parents, Inc. provides a pictorial and multiple listing service of children who have languished in the foster care system waiting for adoptive homes, provides information on the numbers and kinds of available children, and advocates on behalf of children needing permanent homes.

The Foundation serves as an active voice for the more than 134,000 children in the public child welfare system who are waiting for permanent homes and loving families. By funding various national initiatives that directly impact waiting children and expanding the public's awareness of adoption, the Foundation is focused on making a difference in the lives of waiting children.

The National Adoption Assistance Training, Resource, and Information Network operates a toll-free adoption assistance hotline for callers who need more detailed adoption assistance information and advice.

National Adoption Center (NAC) - www.adopt.org

The National Adoption Center is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to expand adoption opportunities throughout the United States, particularly for children with special needs and children from minority cultures. Since 1972, the National Adoption Center has found homes for more than 19,000 children.

The mission of the National Adoption Foundation is to provide financial assistance, services and support to families, before, during and after their adoptions are finalized.

National Adoption Information Clearinghouse (NAIC) - naic.acf.hhs.gov

The National Adoption Information Clearinghouse, a comprehensive resource on all aspects of adoption for professionals, policymakers, and the general public, is a service of the Children's Bureau, Administration on Children, Youth and Families, Administration for Children and Families, Department of Health and Human Services.

The National Council for Single Adoptive Parents was founded by single adoptive parents in 1973 to inform and assist single people in the U.S. who want to adopt.

National Resource Center for Special Needs Adoption (NRCSNA) - www.spaulding.org/adoption/NRC-adoption

The National Resource Center for Special Needs Adoption was established at Spaulding for Children in 1985, with a grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Children's Bureau, to increase the number of children with special needs who are adopted nationwide and to improve the quality of services provided to them and their families.

The mission of the National Adoption Foundation is to provide financial assistance, services and support to families, before, during and after their adoptions are finalized. The Foundation's programs are available to any family whether they are adopting an infant, a child from abroad or a child from foster care.

North American Council on Adoptable Children (NACAC) - www.nacac.org

Founded in 1974 by adoptive parents, the North American Council on Adoptable Children is committed to meeting the needs of waiting children and the families who adopt them. The Council advocates for the right of every child to a permanent, continuous, nurturing and culturally sensitive family, and presses for the legal adoptive placement of any child denied that right.

One Church, One Child, National Office - 202-789-4333

One Church, One Child works with African American congregations to encourage them to support a couple or individual in their adoption of a child. The group conducts a national appeal to recruit black adoptive and foster families for black children, maintains a clearinghouse on the adoption of black children and works with other groups to provide training and technical assistance on this topic.
