State Adoption Specialists
Each state has a state adoption specialist, who can usually provide information on adopting waiting children in that state, statistical data, licensed agencies, access to records, state adoption statutes, subsidy programs, and other state-specific adoption information.

State Licensing Specialists
The state licensing specialist is responsible for the licensing of adoption agencies in that state. He or she can provide information about the status of a particular agency's license, and also handles complaints about agencies.

Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children (ICPC) Contacts by State
The ICPC administrators play a key role in interstate adoption placements by providing oversight for the required Interstate Compact. These individuals facilitate activities and placements under ICPC in their state.

Interstate Compact on Adoption and Medical Assistance (ICAMA) Contacts by State
The ICAMA administrator provides oversight for the Interstate Compact on Adoption and Medical Assistance to ensure that children will have the medical benefits they are entitled to when they are placed in a different state.
